In this new stage, the IMO will include Associate Professor <strong>Marcos Moreno<\/strong> from the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering as Alternate Director.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b32a5f e-flex e-con-boxed wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no wpr-column-slider-no wpr-equal-height-no e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"3b32a5f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c4c1423 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c4c1423\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO) explores the depths of the Pacific Ocean\u2014including the Atacama Trench at over 8,000 meters depth\u2014with its Integrated Deep Ocean Observation System (IDOOS). Its goal is to understand how deep water circulation, hadal biodiversity, and trench tectonics influence the climate, the global carbon cycle, and the risk of megathrust earthquakes and tsunamis.
